Why you should go apple picking this fall

I went apple picking and really enjoyed myself immensely. Apple picking is a seasonal activity that creates a need to go every year. Believe me, you will want to go back, again and again. September is usually the best time to go. There are obviously different types of apples, and they ripen all at different times. However, autumn is typically the best time for pulling them from their trees. Hubs and I went recently and got a chance to frolic through the apple shrubbery. We pulled apples from the trees and took big bites from a few of our picks. I felt like I found my happy place. Right next to the Jonaogold trees, which happens to be a sweet and juicy apple. Tried it, loved it.


Did you know that there are 7,500 kinds of apples? It is hard to even wrap my head around that fact. What a beautiful and wonderful gift from our creator to provide so much diversity with one fruit. I get overwhelmed with great appreciation for this seemingly simple gift from God. It is hard to even fathom this. I picked from the different tree selections, I couldn't resist meditating on how awesome apples are. I felt relaxed breathing in fresh brisk air and being surrounded by nature. If you have been feeling anxious, stressed or depressed. Try picking apples. You can do a simple search using Google to find an apple farm in your area.



Here is what I would suggest. Make sure that the time allotted to pick apples is at least 60 minutes or 1 hour. You will need it. The apples were so sweet and super fresh. It cost $2.50 to enter and all those apples we picked cost $1.50 a pound to purchase after picking. Check the weather before you go,

there was a little drizzle and an overcast. Good idea to keep a raincoat in your car and an umbrella. We visited the Sole Bury Orchards and was very happy with the services. As you are moving through the apple trees, during the season of covid-19. You will experience a greater appreciation for simple things, like picking apples. Take those same apples home, bake a pie, make cider, candy apples and the list can go on. Let’s dare not forget good old fashion apple sauce. My mouth is getting all watery just typing it on the blog, LOL! They also make theee perfect gift to give to someone that just needs to know you care.
