Why sleep

I'm a human, and sleep is my everything! While some folks would probably agree to disagree with me. I wouldn't even give them a rebuttal. I'm not budging on how important sleep is for me. Just because you can accomplish much on very little sleep, doesn't mean it's not vital to your wellbeing. I am feeling confident on at least 7-8 hours of sleep. If I so happen to get in 9 hours, oh I'm making things happen on that day. My body, mind and intellect, it's on another level.

I am liable to write a bestselling novel. Lol. Probably not. But seriously, I feel a shift in how I operate, with sufficient sleep . No, I don't become aloof, if I fall below my preferred hours of sleep. Well maybe, sometimes. But it's where I feel most of me is at an optimal. I am not a doctor, or have any traditional medical training. However, I do know what the facts tell us. Did you know that when you're sleeping your body is repairing itself, from your own damage to it? Hey, I'm just the messenger.



Don't give me the side eye. Goggle it! Lol We already know how wonderfully we're made, right? Alrighty then, so our bodies are like the most magnificent of almost anything ever created. It needs down time. We are amazing. And our bodies we're designed to heal itself. It works incredibly hard to keep us alive. Despite our negligence, which most of the time, it's simply beyond our control. Lifestyle, background, mental health, lack of knowledge and so on, and on. Think of a night shift janitor.

He can fully maintain a building under his skillful care, better when no one is in it. It's quiet, no one dropping trash on the floors, running through the building causing havoc.

The janitor can fix, clean and undo any damage done to the building. But when everyone returns, it starts all over again. Our bodies work similarly, at night, it's that night shift janitor. Sometimes working overtime with a little time and a half. But that depends on us, getting in that good old sleep. Giving our bodies a chance to rest, relax, clean-up and renew.
