What I have learned so far

This blogging is a lot of work. I am an authentic person, and want to let that shine through anything I do. Had to take a few days off from posting, to process it all. ⠀

It seems no matter how creatively different you want to be, someone has already done it. Social media is a world all it's own. And it's probably bigger than we can all ever fathom. As a business owner, with years under this (tight belt). I have always tried to incorporate this same logic (having authenticity) within my business. Blogging seems totally different, [but not really] with so many people doing it. So I decided to go back to basics, do what I already know. ⠀

Asking myself pertinent questions like:⠀

What are you trying to accomplish?⠀

What is your niche?⠀

Who are you trying to target?⠀

What do you hope to gain?⠀

One thing I know about business. Doing the most, won't get you anywhere. People will likely be confused, and eventually turned off. Soooo, needless to say, I am reevaluating and switching some things around. Trying to figure things out.⠀

So this is what I learned so far:⠀

One valuable lesson learned in this process, is building a real community on social media is vital. Also engagement is more important than liking a post, just liking a post isn't enough for you. But engaging in it, leaving a genuine comment. It means you have to actually read what they wrote in order to respond. And both people benefit, the one leaving the comment benefits just as much. It takes time, just like any business. You must really put in the work, if you expect to gain anything.

I have also learned to be yourself. You are unique, you are different and like no other person. You are a vibe that can not be cloned, copied or imitated. So don't be afraid to be you. People want to see that. Authenticity can't be carbon-copied. You won't be perfect, and be okay with that. Don't over think it. I was doing this like a lot the last few times of trying to start my blog.

Reality is, people will treat you how you treat them. Like for like, post for post, genuine engaging comments, so on. You delete them, they delete you. Watching a well-known blogger the other day, who obviously put the work in. She engages with others, and is consistent with posting. I have watched her grow, right before my eyes. You can learn much by watching and observing folks. Soooo, needless to say, I am re-evaluating and switching some things around. And working on being consistent with my writing on my blog. It's work, but I'm learning, and enjoying the process. ⠀
