Finding your own style

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

I love clothes! I think it comes from a love of colors patterns and fabrics. Duh, and there you have it, clothes. I am laughing out loud, while I type this. But believe it or not, I usually wear the same old, same most of the time. Nowadays I just want to be comfy. On most days you will find me in a over sized GAP sweat shirt and baggy jeans. And almost anything Tarjay. I might even be sporting a baseball cap. Yup! My comfy vibe. And of course, there are those rare occasions when I want to be fly, cute and dope. For you kiddos born after 1985

and need the meaning of Fly. Fly is synonymous with something being bomb. And bomb means fly. Ha! Is my definition clear enough? Lol I can sometimes be an eccentric person. I don't like following trends. I know, I know. What planet am I from? I know what's in style and what's popular. But I like to mix and match. I am a going against the grain kinda gal. Sometimes I may even put together styles from older decades. But sometimes, less is more for me. Depends on how I'm feeling.

Be yourself please

Nothing irks me more than someone, trying hard to be a carbon copy of someone else. Be yourself please! I consider myself different for sure. I do not like to copy other people styles. Wait a minute, I don’t like copying people #periodt! Sure, I see what people are wearing and generally like some styles of dress from our decade. LOL But I am naturally a very modest woman. I am not a fan of tight fitting clothes or short dresses and skirts. But not judging you, if that's what you choose to wear. Sorry, it’s my preference. Wait a minute, I'm not sorry. Working on not being apologetic for voicing my opinion, or sharing preferences that the masses may, or may not agree with. It's a incredibly bad habit. Do you do that too? Let me get back on the subject though. LOL. Anywho, I think you can dress modest and still be different and dope. When I was younger, some girls would say: you don’t match, that’s not in style or what are you wearing? And then I would seeing them copying my style. I can remember as a teenager, adding rimstones to my jeans. No one was doing this at the time. I didn't know years later, this would be popular. I just wanted something different.

I don’t consider myself a style expert. Nah, but I know what I like, and will wear it with my head high, over flowing in confidence. Cuz it's my own style. Sometimes confidence is all a person needs to convince the masses that my style is the way to go. And I truly believe this is how new trends are started. Because someone said to themselves, "I really don't care if you don't like it, I do". And I'm wearing it. I don't need to be a trend starter, but I need to be comfortable, just being ME!
