3 Self-Care tips

Updated: Nov 22, 2025

After my self-care of facials, foot soak treatments and essential oil soaks in my tub. Who needs a SPA day? Wait-a-minute, let's not get over confident now Keeva. I can always use a SPA day. And I miss my SPA days, but now-a-days, I'm learning to improvise. Making use of what is I already have. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and covid-19 has me staying home. But self-care can be more vital than ever. I don't know anyone who isn't experiencing a measure of stress and anxieties. Taking care of yourself is essential. I am sharing 3 easy SELF-CARE tips, you can do from home. And to help make your experience feel like you are at an actual SPA. Sorry, massage therapist not included.

Self-Care Tips

1. Facials- there are literally thousands of facial products on the market. Knowing your skin type is vital. If you tend to have sensitive skin, you may want to stay-away from abrasive products. They may irritate your skin and be too harsh on sensitive skin. You may want to seek out products that have cooling and soothing ingredients, such as aloe vera or honey. Oh how I love products containing honey.

I can talk about facials for days. I have tried so many different products. I am a girly-gal, and I enjoy pampering myself from time to time. By time to time, I mean like everyday. Lol. Seriously, everyday at some point self-care is implemented in my daily routine. A simple, deep cleaning of my face is self-care for me. This means that I have to take time and really clean my face. It seems like a simple thing to do, but everybody ain't doing it.

There are a few simple facials you can create from home and you probably have the ingredients in your kitchen. One of my favorites is the Egg facial.

Have you ever tried an egg facial?

I was doing these last year, and loved the way they made my face feel.

The theory behind these facials are that they help tighten your skin and helps to give it, that snap back. After 40, your skin can began to lose its elasticity and may begin to sag, drop and lose its resiliency.

Apparently leaving a cracked egg on your face for 20 minutes twice a week is suppose to help with that. Go figure! I tried and tested it out, it really works. So what you will need is 1 egg mixed or beat well. Apply the mixture with a sponge or hand towel. Leave on for about 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse well with warm water, and air dry. You can do this 1 to 2 times a week. My face felt tighter after each use.

Giving yourself a facial can really relax you, and put your mind and body at ease. Our face contains pressure points that can help with many issues, from depression to anxieties. Yeah, we are wonderfully made. But to gain a real spa experience. Put together a tall glass of water, throw in some lemon or lime with fresh mint.

Talk about having a real experience, that drink will take you there. Just be sure to add a straw to your drink, while you are waiting for your facial to dry. In addition, I like to listen to classical, or any kind of relaxing music.

2. Foot Soaks-My feet started to feel the brunt of being in isolation. And suffered the side effects of missing out on my regular trips to the nail salon for my bi-weekly pedicures. Something had to be done about this and fast. The heels of my feet, began to become dry and cracked. I immediately dusted off my Conair foot massager. It has a deep basin for soaking those tired, dry, cracked feet. I add essential oils to mine, and sometimes vinegar as it is very therapeutic and can help alleviate dry heels.

Soaking my feet in my conair while reading and sipping on something like a green smoothie is the best feeling. I feel like, I providing my body with tender care. Just like our face, our feet has pressure points. Purchasing the right foot massager will enhance the pressure points and will provide better performance. Those pressure points by the way, connect to various organs in our body. Massaging for instance the pressure point for the brain, may help you with that nagging headache. Or the pressure point for the stomach, may help with your constant constipation. This is a no lose situation. Your body will reap all the benefits of a foot massager.

3. Tub Soaks-I love taking hot baths. They are so relaxing and rejuvenating. I would stay in a hot tub for hours if I could. As long as I have a continuous flow of cool drinks to keep me hydrated. Now if you want to level-up your bath time experiences, you have to add something to your bath water.

Depending on how I'm feeling, I like to add anything from bath salts to creamy smell good products. Bath salts that have therapeutic ingredients are my preference.

Dr. Teal's pure epsom salt soaking solution with

Eucalyptus & Spearmint is my absolute favorite for relaxing.

So be sure to not neglect your SELF-CARE, it is essential to your health and overall wellbeing.

Absolutely agree with all of these. I recently purchased an electric callus remover and my feet are baby soft again. I also enjoy steaming to enhance my facials.
